Description:

We are offering our mid-90s Lapierre Hurricane for sale. I have no complaints about this rig; we were simply using it as a stepping stone towards a larger unit. In its lifetime it has only boiled raw sap. The piggyback unit and flue pans are in excellent condition. The syrup pan is in good shape, but one way flow only. If we were keeping the evaporator long term I would consider purchasing a set of cross flow pan syrup pans. The piggy back (like a second flue pan) injects air into each flue through a series of perforated stainless tees fed by a manifold from the blower. All the pans are welded stainless.
So far this year we have boiled over 36,000 gallons of sap, making 600 gallons of syrup (yes, that is our worst sugar content ever!) We are consistently boiling at 250 gph or better, but a good average with start-up and shut down would be 200 gph. We have used almost 20 cord so far; that would be 45 gallons per cord on a normal year. Our wood could have been better too, but we started putting it up late. The arch is factory bricked in excellent condition; air under the fire through cast nozzles, and secondary air nozzles high in the front and back. The balance is controlled by mechanical dampers.
If you call us soon you may still catch a boil before this unusual cold spell is over. Call 802 293 2724. -Chad

I should have noted that it comes with stainless hoods, stacks etc. that are not shown in the photos because we did not use them in this temporary arrangement.
