Description:

 

- New evaporator with copper pans, fabricated in Vermont

- 18" x 36"

- 16oz copper pans

- solder and fittings lead free

- front pan with double draw off for continuus operation

- back pan with drop flues 

- pre-heater

- cast iron grate

- receives 16" wood

- galvanized stack included 6" diameter

- test boiled with water for leaks

- fire brick not included

These are built to order. At the moment there are 2 units available, one located in Waterville Vermont and one in South Western Pennsylvania.

that is very impressive!do you know what the boil rate is? are you building these to order or is this a one shot deal? i am going to buy a small evap this year but not rite at this moment

I have seen your rigs in a few other places and think I was at a guys house that had one. Killer craftsmanship I will say. Maybe share outside of the classified on mapletrader

Hi SPILEDRIVER, thanks for your interest. To answer your question about boil rate is quite difficult. This depends on many factors.
Quality dry hardwood, split small, produces the most BTU's. That, in combination with atmospheric conditions and a good chimney are the prominent factors influencing the evaporation rate. One thing is certain, the use of copper improves the boiling rate a lot.
I would say this unit would serve between 50 and 150 taps, depending on how long you want to boil of course.

How long will copper last?. Does it take allot to clean the pans? How heavy is this unit?
