Trees did run pretty well all night it seems. I should have 100+ gallons to RO down today then boil. This should ensure it won't be the lowest production year for us.

It's so funny how similar we all are...I also listen for the peepers as the indication it's coming to an end, they've been out the last few nights in a row here! It froze again last night, down to 27-28F it looks like. If it's going to do anything more this is the chance. It will be almost 70F this afternoon, but it drops down through the weekend so if I get a haul I should be able to process it by Sunday.

Nice, I had to leave early and didn't get a chance to check mine but my neighbor was going to take a walk out there and let me know. Crossing my fingers!

Woah! I'm heading home now, my neighbor said the pump was reading 28" of vacuum when he checked at lunchtime so that means it's running solid...may still have a season yet! Will report back.

Had a nice boil today and drew off around 4 gallons from the pan ready to be bottled probably Friday and Saturday. Very warm day though and buckets will need to be scrubbed and dumped tomorrow in case there is a run this weekend.

I know! It's Wednesday night at 7:45 PM and I just went out to listen for the peepers and didn't hear a thing!

You all are really getting me both hopeful and worried for when I get back home tomorrow. Fingers crossed I come home to full buckets and no spoilage.

The good news, it looks like the weather will stay cold for next week. Hopefully I can eak out another gallon or two of syrup before the season ends.
    2016-2022 - About 8 taps, 1-2 gallons a year
    2023 - 15 taps + New Property
    2024 - 23 taps
    2025 - 31 taps
