    Default Good 3/16 saddle options?

    Hey all,

I am going to be moving from 6x 3/16 runs that are 400ft long past the last tap into mainline for that stretch. It has performed well as is but to reduce animal maintenance and improve durability I will be going to 3/4 main on that last 400ft. So I need to get my 3/16 into 3/4 main and I have no experience with saddles. What are some good options at 3/16 size?

    Thanks,

I run my 3/16 lines into one of those small white 55 litre barrels. I flip it over and plumb it into the 3/4" mainline. The cap on the barrel is 2", but the center of it is designed with 3/4" female threads. All you need is one 3/4" hosebarb and you can attach the mainline right to it....just an idea

Quite an interesting idea but I plan on using vacuum (shurflo) so I don't think it would work for my application.

DSD saddles are amazing. They make a 3/16 saddle so no adapter. Zero leaks.

I have seen those and I like the stainless bands. Seems like it would hold up very well over time.

The trouble I have had is finding a dealer. Any suggestions?

Check out the DSD web site, they have lots of dealers, their saddles are worth seeking, they have at least 2 big benifits, price, ease of use and effectiveness (if you ever get a leak, just a slight turn on the clamp screw and it's fixed). Another point is that they have saddles for 1/2", 3/4",1", 1.25", 1.5" and 2". While there might be a temptation to use the next begger size on a smaller size line, thet is not a good plan, it is best when the screw on the clamp is at 180 to the entry hole.
By the way, I have used both the 90 degree and the straight take off design, just for ease of installing them I like the straight version far better.
Looking in their 2017 catalog they have 5 branches and 11 dealers to choose from and that is more than the 2016 catalog showed. I suspect they've added more by now.

Dave Klish, I recently bought a 2x6 wood fired evaporator from A&A Sheet Metal which I will be converting to oil fired
Now have solar, 2x6 finish pan, 5 bank 7x7 filter press, large water jacketed bottler, and tankless water heater.
Recently bought another Gingerich RO, this one was a 125, but a second membrane was added thus is a 250, like I had.
    After running a 2x3, a 2x6, 3x8 tapping from 79 taps up to 1320 all woodfired, now I'm going to a 2x6 oil fired and a 200-425 taps.

By the way, I do not use their 3/16 saddles, as my 3/16 gets to the mainline I use a 3/16 x 5/16 hook connector and then a loop of 5/16 to the saddle.

I do the same thing as maple flats. One of the reasons was so I didn't have to buy more supplies when I already had a bunch sitting around.
