    • 25 gallons sap Sunday, boiled off.

    600 l of sap has been transformed into 17 of syrup so far this year. Weather forecast is calling for a week of cold weather, looks like more waiting
    2014 100 taps 65 l of syurp
    2015 50 taps 20 l of syurp
    2016 150 taps, 160 l of syurp made
    2017 plan is 150 taps , and will see what happens
    2018 200 tap , 25 on my first 3/16 gravity system, 250 of syrup
    2019 250 taps , all on 3/16 with 12 volt diagram pump ( 300 l of syrup)
    2020 same 250 taps , time to make a small ro unit

    Got about 50 gallons of sap would of had more but the wind in my area was crazy and most of my trees are exposed so I had a good number of drop line pails blown off
    2017 45 taps 43L
    2018 55 taps 50L
    2019 60 taps ~75L avg sugar 3.3%
    2020 60 taps 70L
    2021 60 taps cant remember
    2022 60 taps 95L
    2023 60 taps 75L New baby came day off boiling started, gave away 1200L of 3% didn't have time.

    Mark I know what you mean about the wind! It's been crazy out for two days straight. Without tying the jugs to the trees they would have been in Kansas by now. Get ready for the coming snowstorms and a four day rest from the sap. It's shovel time.

    Don't like the look of the 2 week forecast. No freezing nights after the cold snap. Hoping we don't get freezing rain tonight. Going to be windy.
