We tapped last Thur and boiled for the first time today. We had about 85 gal of sap from about 70 spouts. It is supposed to freeze up again by Thurs.

I am really glad to hear you got a little syrup made already.Nice start for you all up there.. Hopefully this cold weather will come back and kick my trees into gear. As of today I have not pulled any sap since Saturday..
It has been really muddy, I was not willing to make ruts for just a small run of sap. I need to walk out today and check for clarity. Heck it might all be spoiled and need poured onto the ground.
