After last year with nothing out of the trees, I almost gave up. Temps were good on Friday so I put in about 20 taps. Checked yesterday and some had given over a gallon of sap (that’s a big deal for a small timer like me). Boiled that down and checked again today with another good haul of sap. Hope it keeps up to a bit and I’m be able to get a good bit of syrup.

Yeah trees are back in production mode after the cold.

What kind of maples do you have there? Reds I assume? What gear are you using?

Good for you Cape I think we talked before? Did you get to bring it into the classroom for the kids to learn? Keep us posted on how things go!

That was me, 5050. Thanks for checking in. I am just a hobbyist using tubing and milk jugs; boiling over my fire pit in a buffet pan. They are all reds I'm using, but they are some of the biggest reds I've ever seen. I have one that is a solid 36" in diameter. 17582

Good run here today, 120 gallons and still coming, with what I got in the last day or so, might have a full tote and need to take tomorrow off work and cook again.
Looks like after this run, next chance will be Monday, then it gets hot again. Really bad weather this season with extended cold then hot again. Rinse and Repeat....
