Hung all my sap sacks this weekend, all 115 of them. Didn't see much flow yet, I think most of the trees are still frozen. I hope today will be different story.
I have another 50 taps or so on tubing that I will be putting up this week.
Also have a new Smokey Lakes hybrid pan for my Half Pint evaporator. Really anxious to know how much of an improvement it will be.

Hope the pan exceeds your expectations. Are you adding a blower, auf?

Hi Phil, we aren't neighbors, but pretty close! I have 12 acres of mostly maple on Lake Lemon. Starting at 5:30 tonight I put in 30 taps on 3/16 gravity (my land slopes 290' down to the lake) and I collected 14 gallons by the time I left at 7:30. My problem is I found out My Mason 2 x 4 XL is running a few weeks behind and I have nothing but a turkey fryer. I'm going to build a cinderblock arch for buffet pans this weekend, but I'm still possibly going to have way too much sap. If you're able to keep ahead of your production let me know and I can throw some sap your way...enjoy your new pan - I'm very anxious to get my evaporator given the weather forecast!

I live in Bargersville and could use any left over sap!!!

I've kept up so far by not putting out all my taps, but my evaporator shipped today, so I anticipate using it all going forward. I will let you know if I have any more than I can use!

Anything flowing today? I'm trying to decide if I just run down to pick up a little sap to bring home to do on the turkey fryer or if I need to allocate some time to boil on site. I appreciate your feedback - nice having some folks nearby to check in with!

I figured I'd head down this afternoon and if nothing else get my tanks and buckets emptied. Right now I'm at 60 taps on 3/16 (held off on the other 30 until my evaporator is running) and 7 on buckets. Nothing in the buckets to speak of, and 18 gallons in my two 275 gallon tanks. Not enough sap to justify 3 hours in the car round trip, but since I'm not coming down until Saturday it will hopefully prevent some bad sap waiting for me then.

Oh, and I hadn't emptied the tanks since Noon on Sunday, so it probably was mostly from then...
