Assuming that it warms up again in about 10 days, what's the downside of tapping now to take advantage of the next few days of warmer weather?

I'm in eastern PA. I was going to tap on the 19th, but I after watching the forecast I think I'm going to wait until the week, maybe two weeks, after that.

just added a blower to my arch today, cant wait to start boiling,but its not looking like anytime soon. -15 tonight with the wind chill here in wantage.

Dr sugar probably nothing depends on your set and now it not late but the tap only last 6 to 8 weeks or so why we try not to tap to early knowing it's going to get real cold for extended period you don't want the tap to start to dry up seal up when we he the big runs come later on it's all a guess,from now on in my area it tap time after this cold and go with it to the end,I'm always done just about First week in April!
