We have been making syrup at our present camp since the early 80s. This is the first time I can remember tapping in March. We finished over 600 taps last Saturday and Sunday. We have less than 100 more taps to go. They will be finished on Wednesday or Thursday.
We installed new tubing on the half of our Bush this year. We had to learn all new technique on installing fittings and spiles. We plan to replace the other half of our tubing this summer. Because we take our tubing down each year and pressure wash it it is as clean as it was when we installed it 20 years ago. It will be interesting to see how this max flow grip tubing Coils and performs through the season.
