    Nobody is to run, just big operations on vac trying to get their 20k taps in before it starts

    That's quite a cold snap affecting the Midwest. If you up in the frozen north have cabin fever and really need to read about tapping activity, go to our Missouri Tapping log. Sap has been flowing. John
    2020: 220 trees, most smaller than 20" diameter, made 25 gallons
    remote location in western Cole County
    5/16" plastic spiles, drain into plastic buckets or sapsaks
    haul sap out of woods using atv & trailer
    wood-fired pans on concrete blocks
    one Leader Half Pint 24 x 33" plus 24 x 30 ss pan from a junkyard
    cook batch process then finish in the kitchen;

    Our Son's wife is from "Lee's Summit" MO she hates coming here in winter ha ha 32 below last night here in Sugar Camp Wisconsin still 10 below at almost noon. Jay

    every year i try to hold off a lil longer so i don't wind up fighting ice so much but accuweather's long range forecast has the end of march really warming up. i've never known them or punxatonny phil to be wrong

    275 gallon tote goes in that corner. Most years I don't even need to shovel in there. Should be interesting getting around the woods this spring.

    Everything here looks like a tunnel now. No more room to put snow anywhere. Snowpiles up as high as my loader will reach. I'm thinking snowshoes for sure Deitze. Jay
