Mount View Sugar Bush - Since 1989
2004 5.5' x 18' Custom-built Stainless Evaporator w/ 7' Piggyback + Preheater
4,000 - 5,000 taps vacuum/gravity/bags
24' x 32' Sugar Shack
I would almost, almost drive to Wisconsin from Massachusetts to get all that for just $600. I'm getting too old for road trips.

Your never to old to come to the overcast midwest. Land of cheese curds. And you think you sound funny when you speak.
Hey Patrick, I wrote to the Craig's lister and got some more info...
"The pan is English tin, one chamber, and flat. No idea on brand. I purchased it in Antigo. Probably came from Reynolds Sugar Bush in Aniwa, WI.
* 3 hydrometers 2 syrup an 1 sap.
* 75+ taps. Plastic/tubing, metal and cast. several plastic taps set-up with two taps feeding into one 5 gal. jug. Works great!
* 3 filter bags orlon and wool.
* 2 - 5 gal. collecting buckets
* 50 - 2 and 21/2 gal metal and plastic sap pails/lids.
* some glass ware and lids. 12oz. bottles."
Looks a bit rough to me but do you still think it's worth the money? (hope these pics post).
Itty bitty hobbier
'08 = 4 taps w gallon jugs
15” diameter pan on a 30 gal trash can "arch"
'09 = 9 maple taps + couple black walnut (experiment)
A couple 2 legged sap haulers + a 4 legged boilin buddy named Honey (Yellow Lab)
Haven a BLAST
The fire box is pretty well burnt out in a couple of places and the grates are going towards the back .
maybe 50 taps for 2011
Finally ready to boil when I get enough sap
I just might be crazy.( make that I know I am)
Trees all tapped except the ones with 5 feet of snow.
Enough rabbits to keep Elmer busy..
How's that saying about horses go? Ridden hard and put away wet. That arch has made a LOT of syrup. At least I hope it did.
Lynxi, thanks for that follow up.
Those cheese curds are still tempting....

I came across this ad this morning. 3 or 5 gallon stainless coffee urns. Not sure if they have heating elements in them or not. Located somewhere in Cleveland area.
