Welcome Garrett County Syrup Makers. I bet you know the family near Gorman, Md. that make syrup, great bunch guys with a large camp right beside the road between Gorman and Lock Lynn.

Finzel,
I have been by there a number of times, the next time I come down to see my son I may drop in and check out your operation.

What are you tapping that for south, Reds? Great to have a wider base of producers.

Dave Klish 575 taps for 2010, dropped all soft maples because of warmer weather, 3x8 raised flue evap. I've decided to add vacuum for 2011 and sell the sap I can't handle and then add RO for 2012. I plan to bring the bush with vac from 400 up to 550 and add another 200+/- on a row of 75 mature roadside sugars that the landowner has asked if I would like to tap.Should bring me to just over 900 with 550 on vac.

MapleFlats

I met some Amish that had came to the tubing seminar in Somerset County, Pa. They picked up their new RO while they was there, a 1000 gal a hour unit. They needed it pretty bad for their 7000 tap operation in southern Kentucky. Yeah Sugar maples! South of the Mason-Dixon, Don't tell Al Gore it may ruin his global warming gig.
