3/27 sunny and warm gave us 32 gallons on 19 bags, 12 early and 19 later, all continuing to drip today. Started a boil then and restarted today at 7. With storage faltering, I'm hoping to keep abreast, as there are likely 15 gallons on the trees.

seem to have peaked @ 20 taps: bags on hangers
Homemade RO
2 or 3 gallons syrup per annum, formerly with wood fire arch and batch pans
then Dark Star 2.0 burner and 8 gal Megapot Brew Kettle with ball valve
transitioning now to 30x17x9 flat pan
rarely have so few toiled so much for so little

Powerless from Saturday night to Wednesday evening, the third boil was suspended after one propane tank. The ice storm and subsequent two inches of snow did not stop the trees, and storage demands a restart for the maybe fifteen gallons on the trees. Only two bags bit the dust in the falling treetops.
What a mess. Nevertheless, the evaporator was fired up at 6, and after tossing a lot of ice, I may have enough room to collect today after all. Second boil yield of 2 gallons pleasantly surprised, also aided by ice tossed, and we are on pace for five or more on the season, which is a good year.

Finished fourth boil and pulled remaining ten taps yesterday in cold sunshine, gittin' while the weather is good. 120 gallons sap to 5 gallons syrup on 19 taps in four boils is the tally.
Lake is still iced up, snow on the ground in the shade, no hint of bud on sugars yet. I planned to stay open but I got my five and the weather is about to sky into the 60's for a spell, or so they say.
