I wish I could post a picture on here! Send me an email address and I'll send a picture if interested. Don't see many of these units, really a rare find. It is the same turbo setup as the 5 HP or 7.5 HP or any of them. The machine itself looks exactly the same. The wiring in the cabinet now is for 2-4" posts but put the right relay in and you could run 1-8" post or more. I would have to swap out the turbo to a 5 HP to run more than 1-8" post but this setup as is will run 1-8" post or the 2-4" posts which is all I should ever need. It's a similar machine as to what N8hutch has, but with 4" posts. It's an expandable cabinet so I could put a 7.5 HP pump and run 3 posts if I had enough sap That's what I really like about it, the expandable/flexibility and ability to get sap in the teens if I want to do a second pass. Previous owner said he would get 10% on one pass with the 4" posts at 425-450 (max) PSI. I'll play with it to see what I want to do. Nothing wrong with Ray's machines, especially at their price point.

Hey maine...syrup, how did that new RO work out for you? Did that Turbo give you the rates you were planning on?

I ended up increasing taps and vac, but maybe not enough to justify the jump to the bigger RO yet. All my boils were 500-700 gallons until this week, so once again I'm wondering if I can make the jump next year. I did increase my permeate storage to 1,100 which is really nice now that I'm into the warm/small-boil part of the season.

Share your results when you have a chance. If your season is still ripping, it can wait!

Around 300 taps on tubing, 25+ on buckets if I put them out
Mix of natural and mechanical vac, S3 Controller from Mountain Maple
2x6 W.F. Mason with Phaneuf pans
    Deer Run 250 RO
    Ford F350
6+ hives of bees (if they make it through the winters)

We haven’t got the new shack started yet due to life getting in the way so it’s still in the basement unfortunately. Another year of raw sap. I did see someone post one for sale recently that had 2- 4” membranes and an 8” membrane. One of the Maple equipment sites on Facebook. Don’t recall where it was Had wiring for both setups.

Ah, that's too bad - but totally understandable. Right after I posted, I saw an ad for Deer Run ROs in the Maple News. They have a 375 I didn't know about. Thanks for the tip on the Turbo for sale. I'll check it out. Good luck the rest of the way.
