We're completely tapped but still have some work to do before we're ready to collect and process sap. I'm definitely leaning a lot harder towards a refrigerated concentrate tank because these early runs where we don't get a lot of sap can be saved for a later date when we get enough to boil.

We will likely tap this weekend. Still need to snow blow my access trail. Hopefully this rain will soften up the ice enough I can do that.

Sunday looks like a good day to tap. **** side-by-side is overheating so gotta fix that. Might have to get the tractor out with snow blower as still lots of snow

Shovelled my way to the sugar shack today, about 20" deep. The drop from my packed snowmobile trail to my pathway was a 9" drop.

Finished tapping yesterday and got the tanks and pumps set up today.
Surprisingly it ran a little with the NW wind and high of zero.
Just like everyone else here the snow depth is a real challenge. Usually we have everything tapped and set up by family day weekend. Maybe we’ll have an “old time” season this year with snow and frost going away slowly. Gotta love this weeks forecast.

Same at the end of the season with small flows. Also can come in very handy if/when you have RO or evaporator problems that take a day or three to fix.

Pretty much all tapped yesterday and this morning. Lots of dripping going on! Deep snow in some places. Hope to make some steam tonight!

Like everyone else we're contending with deep snow, about 24" in the bush. No pack so every step you sink. We taped this weekend on snowshoes... How Canadiana is that ! Was a tough go but the sun was shining, coffee was hot/beer was cold and Acer, our Springer Spaniel, had a blast following us (she fell asleep sitting up). Got 110 on vacuum and 15 on gravity and they're all running ! So far so good ! Should be good for a boil this weekend. Good luck all !

We put about 150 in Sunday. Still have more to do but saving them for the grandkids. Got my trail blown out Saturday and it had almost thawed down to bare ground by this afternoon. One more day of sunshine it will likely start to dry up.
