You will definitely have benefit over gravity. Either a mainline or all small lines running into a manifold will work. More information needed to give you good advice.

I am in a similar situation but my longest run of 5 taps on 5/16 is about 150yds. I'm looking at about 40 taps on a 4008. 5-6 runs. I was thinking about a 1/2" main line. Will the 4008 efficiently pull from that far plus close by on 5/16? Should I go to a mainline? Max drop is 10' to the pump.

I've run just over 40 taps on a 4008 for many years now. No need for a mainline. Run the 5/16 right to a manifold. Will work great.
