are you running an R.O., I remember when I wasn't and it sure takes awhile to make any syrup at 1%. I hope you had a good season MapleCamp

Yes a single post 4 by 40 that I put together, crunches it to about 10%, a bit slow , but I'll fix that before next season. Still saves me a bunch of fire wood.
Good luck with whats left of the season.

900 gallons of just under 1% sap today, we'll call it 9% sap. I'm going to boil it in tonight, probably be about 70 gallons after R.O.ing, made about 35 gallons last night. Going to make some Eclipse Syrup tomorrow night, should be worth an extra 50%.

I decided to forego the eclipse boil and hold off until tomorrow, I got maybe 1000-1100 gallons in the last 24 hours, we had a great freeze last night but I think the trees are just done. It has already slowed considerably so I think that tomorrow may be the last day I haul sap back to boil.

Sap was really slow this morning, I'm going to leave the pump on for today. But it will definitely get turned off tonight. Buds are still tight but the highground is drying out and the tap holes have had it.

Sap actually ran better yesterday than I expected and I was Able to haul about 500 gallons home and boil it In with the other for a total of 17 gallons made last night and 267 so far this season . The vac pump is still on but only 150 or so gallons came in overnight so unless it picks up today I am done. I will boil out my rig tonight & start cleaning up.

As for totals I didn't tap the small woods at my sugarhouse so I am at somewhere between 850-900 taps this year. I am hoping to get a more accurate count when I pull taps. I think I will finish up with 280 gallons, that's pretty good considering how late I Got started first boil was pretty late March 12th, I definitely missed the early sap, my sugar content was lousy all season , best I saw was 1.6% and my average was probably closer to 1.2. I did add alot of Mainline to my woods this year 3500 feet of 1", it definitely helped alot & I will Add some more this summer to try and get every lateral under 100'.
