Woke up this morning and the sky is full of what us locals call Allegheny gnats! They are white they seen to be at the mercy of the wind because they go wherever the wind takes them, it’s a tremendous outbreak! So many of them the ground is covered with them! Usually they show up in December, January, February, but the middle of March ridiculous! Got to be climate change effecting there arrival? Another point in the days of old, they would be around when the locals are trying to make a little sweetener for there pancakes! Oh well next year!

March is often the snowiest month in canaan! Got about a foot since saturday. Winds and drifting picking up now. I just dont wanna have to hook up the snowplow since I got a pile of brush in front of it now. Nice to have a little break in the sap action to do some skiing! Hope this helps for a big run when it thaws out
