I'm in Albany, VT.
I have a 40' X 80' concrete foundation, in great shape, that used to be an equipment shed. The shed roof collapsed a number of years ago so the foundation, with a dirt floor, is the only thing left.
I'm envisioning the foundation could be used as the base for a sugar shack that would have solar on the south facing roof. I'm thinking the sugar shack could be built in phases over a few years with the 1st phase being the uprights, rafters and metal roof for a 40' wide X 24' long section. This would allow enough room to setup an evaporator, perhaps in 2023, and boil. I would also store and dry firewood in this section.
Any advice on timber framing or stick built, DIY building, plans...will be greatly appreciated.
