    Default Barrel heater suggestions

I'm looking to speed up my bottling operation. It currently takes me a solid 10 to 12 hours to bottle a 55 gallon drum. Most of the time is consumed just heating syrup to temp in my water jacket canner. Do drum heaters work and do they cause any effect to the syrup when you use them? I have no interest in wanting to run it through the filter press again.

My water jacket takes about 3 hours to heat 40 gallons. Maybe you need a bigger heating element.

Propane with a commercial burner under it. Holds about 18 gallon of syrup. 5 gallon of water I believe. Haven't timed it per batch but I'm guessing about 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Typically do 15 gallon at a clip till drums empty. Thats 4 batches 6 to 8 hours of just heating plus slow pumping to fill it back up especially this time of year. Diaphragm pump hates that cold syrup.
