Default 2019 NYS winter conference, now at the NYS fairgrounds

Wow, I was there last night, what an improvement on room. Lots of new vendors and most if not all of the old ones. There was loads of space for sure.
I saw and spoke with a lot of fellow Maple Traders. I will stop today and talk with Peter Gregg, Who nowns this forum, when I passed him yesterday he was busy talking with a gust and I was in a hurry to get to the auction. I also need to stop at Catskill Mtn Maple and pick up 400 more Zap Bac taps he is holding for me.
I hope to get a chance to meet face to face with many of you fellow Traders today. My name tag says "Dave Klish, I also wrote in black marker "maple flats" above my name. See you there.
Dave Klish, I recently bought a 2x6 wood fired evaporator from A&A Sheet Metal which I will be converting to oil fired
Now have solar, 2x6 finish pan, 5 bank 7x7 filter press, large water jacketed bottler, and tankless water heater.
Recently bought another Gingerich RO, this one was a 125, but a second membrane was added thus is a 250, like I had.
    After running a 2x3, a 2x6, 3x8 tapping from 79 taps up to 1320 all woodfired, now I'm going to a 2x6 oil fired and a 200-425 taps.

Another great show. I picked up my additional taps and I bought a barometric gauge from Marcland. It tells me the current barometric pressure and the boiling temp of water at that pressure. This will help keep the auto-draw set correctly. Will likely recheck 2-3 times during a boil to adjust if the pressure changes.
Talked with lots of old friends and met many new friends too.

My family and I went to this conference for the first time so we can't compare it to Verona. We were impressed. My wife, daughter and I split up to take in as many seminars as we could; I think our divide and conquer method allowed us to see 11 seminars. We learned a lot, met a lot on nice people, and spent a lot of money....
    2016 - 2 x 4 Randy Worthen built arch and pans 11 taps; 2.625 gallons of syrup!
    2017 - 29 taps; 11.625 gallons of syrup!
2018 - 30 taps; 98 pints bottled! New sugar house being built, new equipment coming!
2019 - 125 taps; 50 gallons made! New 2x6 Smoky Lake Corsair arch, drop flue pan, auto draw. Smoky Lake filter press and Steam Bottler
    2020 - 173 taps; only 35 gallons made.
    2021 - 242 taps; New record! 50.5 gallons made!
    2022 - 321 taps; New record! 80 gallons made!

Hopefully you learned a lot, had fun and ended up with some nice shinny stuff.
