Default Tapped today (2/18/16) in Bethany

I tapped my 20 trees early this morning. Not one tree dripped a drop as I worked. I'm at a high elevation (800' AMSL) in a cold valley. It's only 25 deg. outside now, but the forecast shows a high of 31 today, a high of 35 tomorrow, and highs in the forties for the next few days thereafter. I think I might have missed an early run at the beginning of the month, but I am hoping for a long season starting tomorrow!

Yep, there was some good sap flow since the beginning of February. I collected 20 gallons from14 taps yesterday and today basically nada-frozen. Good luck with your season. Temps look very promising!
    12 taps for 2009.
    30+ for 2010.
    30+ for 2011.
2012- Still holding around 30+ with no help in sight.
2013-Still a loner but what a Fantastic yielding year
    2014- Forever a loner
2017-Still here, after trying to kick the habit.
Down to 15-20 taps with the intent to save my marriage.

Sap Haulers- Kids NADA, I tried but I'm on my own.
Buckets and Sap Saks, 4 steam pans, Block Evaporator, and single burner propane for finishing.

Just collected 18.25 gallons (measured) from the last 24 hrs from my 22 taps and buckets. Second best day ever for my modestly productive trees. That's 18% of my season goal. This is a good start!
