I put my last twelve taps in Wednesday evening at the highest point in Hendricks county. The wind was whipping! 95 taps for me this year. I have boiled about 250 gallons. Check valve taps on tubing (37) went in on January 24.

How were they running today? I was hoping last night would freeze things up enough so there would be some activity today and hopefully really good days tomorrow and Sunday. I'm going to head down to my property to boil tomorrow and Sunday morning...hopefully I can bring home anything I don't get to (or it will keep with the cold temps coming next week.
2014 - 8 taps, turkey fryer, 130 gallons sap, just under 2.5 gallons syrup.
2015 - 50 taps and counting.
2016 - 60 taps on 3/16 and a Bill Mason evaporator on order.
2017 - 115 taps on 3/16, homemade r/o.
2018 - 150 taps on 3/16, r/o a big help, but lots of leaks killing yield.
2019 - sticking with 150 taps or maybe less, focusing on good vacuum and less waste to increase yield. Doubling up my r/o, and made a vacuum filter that looks promising.
Not enough early warming here for good flow. Looking better this weekend.

Thanks for the update...I'm hoping my southern exposure got a little going today, but I'm with you...hoping for a good weekend!

John, how did the weekend treat you? I got about 110 gallons from Friday until about 1:00 Sunday afternoon, boiling down the last 20 gallons that ran while I shut down my evaporator tonight and tomorrow on a turkey fryer. I'm sure there is some in my 275 gallon totes from the remainder of the day Sunday...I just had to leave to go to a Superbowl party, but with these temps it will keep.
