    Default Tapped in Stamford

Got everything in yesterday and today. Sap was running for sure. One off the earliest dates I've tapped. We'll see if it pays off. My gut thinks that when spring comes, it's going to stay.
Former Life: 300+ taps (125 gravity, 200 buckets), 96 gallons of syrup in 2015
    24x16 public sugarhouse
2x6 wood fire evaporator (back pan Waterloo Small & Leader 2x2 front pan)
Current Life: Backyarder with Mason 2x3XL. New sugar house coming soon…

Yeah, I looked at a long term forecast and it predicted that we're heading into cold spell to slow us down, then last week of February and the first two weeks of March seem to be amazing for us sap collectors, then some really warm temps coming the last half of March.
    12 taps for 2009.
    30+ for 2010.
    30+ for 2011.
2012- Still holding around 30+ with no help in sight.
2013-Still a loner but what a Fantastic yielding year
    2014- Forever a loner
2017-Still here, after trying to kick the habit.
Down to 15-20 taps with the intent to save my marriage.

Sap Haulers- Kids NADA, I tried but I'm on my own.
Buckets and Sap Saks, 4 steam pans, Block Evaporator, and single burner propane for finishing.

Have most people tapped already? I guess the temps have been right for it. Just scarred we will get a cold snap and the holes will dry up before the typical good runs in March. Looking at the extended forecast its boarderline basically for the rest of the month, could be great or alittle cold. Would most of you just get them tapped at this point?

    YES
Down here in Southern CT there has been a very good run this week. I have a feeling we'll be looking at the tree buds swelling by the last couple weeks in March. Hope I'm wrong but I had moths visiting already.
