    Earliest I have tapped before - trees were running as I tapped!

    Im over in Wanatah, set 70 taps over the last couple days...might do 30 more in a few days
    2016:100 taps added a JD 1023 sub compact tractor
    2015:break (new baby)
    2014: 70 taps, replaced my concrete arch with a manufactured
    2013: Added 15 more taps and a 18x24 warming pan
    2012 : 36 Taps, 2x4 divided pan on a concrete arch
    2006-07: Assisted an 'Old Timer' with 200 tapps, and his wood fired evaporator up in Wis.
    1986-1993: 5 taps, Boiled on a wood stove in Northern Mich.

    How long have you been doing syrup? I'm from Marshall county and this is the earliest we've tapped, but it's only our 5th year.

    My family has been producing maple sugar for generations..me, off and on for 20 years...really hitting hard the last six.

    Have you guys gotten much sap? I put 18 taps in last week, and have only collected about 7 gallons. Curious to what other people in the region are getting

    Default Sap flow

    I put up 65 taps between thursday and sunday...currently have 40 gals....about half or less of what i wanted
    Hanging another 35 buckets this week...one we get better freez thaw cycles it should improve, i hope

    Im thinking next week should be good, this week is gonna be cold so I'm not expecting much even though I got about 2 gallons from one of my yard trees yesterday. Gonna wait untill te beginning of next week to put in the rest of my taps. Getting anxious to boil!!!
