    Default Tapped in Beacon Falls

The last few days, the weather felt like it was time. The long range forecast looked good, so I decided to tap. I put 10 of my 30-35 in yesterday afternoon, and it appeared to be having a nice run. I'll mosst likely finish this morning. All indicators pointed toward this being the time...except for the calendar. I just hope we don't get a prolonged freeze in a week or two to seal everything up before a real run...or this may be the real run. Either way, I'm collecting and be boiling this weekend!

    A prolonged freeze won't hurt, a prolonged warm-up will.

Over the last 5-6 days I have set 50 taps in Oxford, southbury, and Woodbury. Have collected 53 gallons in my first season. I am currently out of sap and have about 2.5 gallons of concentrate that we will finish Sunday for our first ever syrup! Been a great journey and apparently we are just getting started!
