    Default sap run ever coming?

This is another weird year. I have no idea when to tap. Im prpbably going to set taps this week just to see. I still think its way to early. Last year was horrible for us, mechanical failures and mud made for a wasted season. Hope this is a better year.

Here in St Louis, our weather is fairly close to yours. I tapped on the 6th and have gotten 13 gallons of sap from 15 trees since then. It's super-cold now (which is great), and the forecast for both of us shows some good freeze/thaw cycles coming. Should make for a good run, so I wouldn't delay much longer.

We're pretty far south compared to most tappers, so it's not crazy to expect our season to run a bit earlier (and end sooner) than a majority of folks in this forum. That's the way I see it, anyway.

Trust me, the season will come (unless #^ll freezes over) when it is ready.
Dave Klish, I recently bought a 2x6 wood fired evaporator from A&A Sheet Metal which I will be converting to oil fired
Now have solar, 2x6 finish pan, 5 bank 7x7 filter press, large water jacketed bottler, and tankless water heater.
Recently bought another Gingerich RO, this one was a 125, but a second membrane was added thus is a 250, like I had.
    After running a 2x3, a 2x6, 3x8 tapping from 79 taps up to 1320 all woodfired, now I'm going to a 2x6 oil fired and a 200-425 taps.
