Glad I'm not the only one worrying about this. Hopefully we get a cold spell soon.
Holy cow it's warm. Anyone thinking about tapping in January?
I just looked at the next couple months on Accuweather. It shows we will be tapping in Jan. I have heard both a repeat of last year and a warmer than normal winter from the weather people. Not sure what to believe anymore. I wonder what the sap will be like if we do't get a freeze for at least a couple weeks.

Think I will try tapping a couple of test trees New Year's Day and see what's going on.
Tapped today 1-1-16 no sap yet.
The news this morning didn't look like there's going to be much change. Whenever it's going to be cold enough at night, it's going to stay too cold during the day. I have mixed feelings, though. It's nice not having any storms, I get to stay home at night. I'm going to know how spoiled I am when it starts
