Default Question on Series 4 Procon Pumps

I see that procon pumps (series 4) can range from 115gph to 330gph at 250psi. If I buy a 330gph pump but don't end up processing that much material (because of the membranes) what will happen to the pump? I assume that no matter which one I get, 115gph or 330gph, it will be able to build up to 250 psi so long as there is resistance.

I guess my question is; Will it hurt anything if I get the higher volume pump but end up unable to process 330gph of sap? (I realize that those manufacture numbers are for water at 70 degrees. This also give me direction for future expansion.

The pump I run has an internal bypass so I dont even worry about the pump putting out more gpm or psi than my two membranes can take if that is even a concern. I am actually getting a pump that does 700+gpm at 260 psi (approx)

What sort of motor do you need to run that? It seems that the motors about 3/4hp double in price.

    right now I'm running a 1HP 1P at 240V, 316gpm and 250psi.
So my my experiment this year will to be mount the larger pump on the 1 HP motor and parallel two 125gpm H20 membranes come out of them into a 3/4HP motor with pump above into a single 125 H20 membrane.

Its sounds good but Ro are new to me

I'm new to it also, hence the questions... Hope you don't mind. What pump are you using for the second membrane? It seems hard to find a casing that will handle it.
