Thread: north of huntsville hoping for first sap today

    I put some of the taps in on Wednesday and I put the rest of my taps in today. I still needed snow shoes to get around in the bush! I hope the temperatures drop below freezing this week or this season may be a write off!

    still about two feet of snow where I am in the bush but its raining right now. would like to walk on the ground but i know that will shorten the season. weather is pretty warm hope it cools downonly been colecting about 50 gallon of sap from 197 taps. first week is over hope we have a few more.
    Ferrier's Maplebee farms
    600 gravity 50 buckets
    3x12 waterloo raised flue
    with preheater
    20 year old son willing to learn (for gas and beer money)
    1997 f150 with trailer
