Still running and very likely to go past Apr 1 with the forcast the next 10 days. I am down an went Com. last night, but it has a great taste. I might even buy some light and blend to dark amber.
Dave Klish, I recently ordered a 2x6 wood fired evaporator from A&A Sheet Metal which I will be converting to oil fired
Now have solar, 2x6 finish pan, 5 bank 7x7 filter press, large water jacketed bottler, and tankless water heater.
Recently bought another Gingerich RO, this one was a 125, but a second membrane was added thus is a 250, like I had.
After running a 2x3, a 2x6, 3x8 tapping from 79 taps up to 1320 all woodfired, now I'm going to a 2x6 oil fired and a 200-425 taps.
I am a 66 year old retired truck driver and I love working my sugar camp.I do this by myself. This year I had two trailor tank rollovers and three totes laying on there sides when I went to gather sap. I don't know how much sap I lost but 3520 gal. sap made it back to the sugar house and it made 75gal syrup. 46 gal. sap to 1 gal.syrup. One morning I was getting ready to start boilling and I walked by the evaporator and my coat got hooked on the syrup pan draw off valve and cracked it open just a little and when I came in syrup was running toward the door. MAN more work that I did not need at 6:00AM. That will not happen again I put safety latches on my valves. Ups and downs are all part of making maple syrup and I love it so.
