Tapping early with new spouts, adaptors, or cv's is certainly not going to be as big a deal or any deal compared to bags or buckets. Those that just used the spouts hanging in the woods are going to run into "dry hole" early. Why would this year be different than any other?

At least the surplus will be used and maybe you won't have to get on a list this year to sell bulk syrup.

Where we made syrup long before the trendies made it popular, now its just another commodity.

    John Deere 4000, 830, and 420 crawler
1400 taps, 600 gph CDL RO, 4x12 wood-fired Leader, forced air and preheater. 400 gallon Sap-O-Matic vacuum gathering tank, PTO powered. 2500 gallon X truck tank, 17 bulk tanks.
No cage tanks allowed on this farm!

That's if you sell bulk syrup...I don't... I don't make enough to supply my customers. So I like to maximize my oportunities.
