About a half-hour North of cheesegenie... just over a gallon per tape on buckets. Weather forecast for the next week is downright exciting but expect I'll have to deal with lots of frozen sap over the weekend. I'd rather be picking ice out than having it spoil this late in the season due to high temps.

Sap ran good here today also. it never started untill later but man did they pour sap when they did. Tomorrow should be dood also and then winter for a few days. Disappointed in the birch so far but maybe they will come around when the maples quit and I can do a good bunch of that also. She who needs to be obeyed wants me to make beer and wine with it. A mans work is never done.
    maybe 50 taps for 2011
Finally ready to boil when I get enough sap
I just might be crazy.( make that I know I am)
Trees all tapped except the ones with 5 feet of snow.
Enough rabbits to keep Elmer busy..

We had a flood here today. All the totes under the releasers were overflowing. All the totes at the sugar shack were full.
RO going full blast ... had to turn off the vac.

Glad to hear some success out there. Just got in from boiling. Went through 60 gallons since 3pm. -4 this morning with frost but today didn't produce as much sap. Gathered maybe 45 gallons from the 108 taps. Puts me back about even with the sap I had ahead. Had a neighbour back to watch today and a couple of friends and the kids. Had a real good time. The season will be what it is. Hope everyone has some positive experience this year.

Sap has just been trickling for me all month. I think I am just a bit too far south compared to most of you and a couple degrees warmer at night so I haven't got the good runs some of you have. I hope for a decent run this weekend.

Some of the trees tried to run and the lines trickled yesterday, but it wasn't enough to bother gathering. Just wasn't a hard/long enough freeze.

A good run for me yesterday. about 80 gallons of SAP. SAP was a bit cloudy but I double filtered when transfering to barrels and it cleared right up. Started boiling last night but haven't finished any yet to see how it grades.

Finally finished syrup from about a week ago that I had sitting in the finishing pan... crazy how much sand was in there.. quite a mission to filter it.

Should be a good day today -3 this morning...

on the downside my trail to the wood is almost impassible... pretty much winching non-stop to get thru the trail hauling sap.

No buds showing on my trees.

We had HUUUUUGGGGE SAAAAAPPPPPP yesterday - the most we've ever put through the camp in a single day. I'm now cautiously optimistic we can get to average with one more good week. Hopefully the cold weather tomorrow can bring the colour back some.

in the kawartha lakes, we are having a pretty good season. We have about 100 taps and we have made approximately 45-50 litres of maple syrup this year, with more to come. Is that about average or below what you guys are making this year? The real problem for me is all the mud, i cannot drive my tractor to access some taps. For about 3 days straight all buckest have been full at the end of the day.
