Red face 2 weeks and counting

Everything is coming together perfectly for Maple Weekend. The vacuum is pulling 26” at the releaser and 25” at the farthest tap. The evaporator is boiling 40-50 gallons per hour (not bad for a 2x6). And I have 450 gallons of sap ready to boil. I only have room for another 200 gallons before Saturday, and then the tanks will be overflowing. Then I think I am finished for the season. I will move on to my next project, the family. My wife’s due with our first child in two weeks.
    Wish me luck!

p.s. My wife doesn’t like the names Amber or Fancy.

How about Niter or Sugar Sand.
    maybe 50 taps for 2011
Finally ready to boil when I get enough sap
I just might be crazy.( make that I know I am)
Trees all tapped except the ones with 5 feet of snow.
Enough rabbits to keep Elmer busy..

Kessa won! I wanted to do “Amber Gold Jeannotte” but I would have to ask Josh first. But when we said Kessa we both said that’s it.
