Just shut down the evaporator. Pulled in another 36 gallons off vac and another 20 gallons on buckets today. Cooked that with leftovers from yesterday's long boil. I've got 5 gallons of syrup at density and looks like another 2 or so. If I end up with an even 7 gallons that puts my sugar at 2.1%. That'll work.

2015 - Small operation. 25 buckets. One excited 5 year old and one 35 year old that feels 5 again.
2016 - One year older. New Homemade 2x4 Arch, Smoky Lake Pan and looking at 52 maples, 17 box elders and 2 walnut trees.
2017 - Shurflo 4008 hooked to 42 stingy silver maples and a few Norways. A couple buckets on sugars and Norways. 10 box elders.
    2018 - ...a few more taps.
2019 - ...more taps on 3/16 gravity. This spiral is heading downward in a hurry.

Just got back from the sugar bush. About 22 gallons off of about 150 taps on buckets. Almost every tap looked wet so looking forward to the next freeze thaw cycle to get a good run!

55 gallons off 110 taps yesterday. 3% sugar. Boiled tonight little over gallon finished. Sap hardly ran at all today which surprised me with the warm temperature.

My taps didn’t run well either yesterday with the warm weather. Was hoping for more. Did a quick boil yesterday and got my first gallon. It’s a start!

Put in about 260 on a hybrid system yesterday but not much happening. Most holes were wet but not much running.

Did our first boil today. Will tap 120 bag taps tomorrow. We have one more 3/16 line to finish when we get more tubing. My 2 yard trees ran very well today. Hope everyone has a productive year.

Off to a slow start this year. 20 trees flowing great and 40 not doing a thing. Had to be a strong frost in the ground on the west side of my hill. The positive is although sap has been tough to get, sugar content has been strong. Nearly 3 percent so far.

Been somewhat slow, but steady, here in the SE corner of our state. Nights here haven't been getting quite cold enough to really recharge the trees, but enough to keep sap flowing in slowly. Boiled another ~180 gallons over the weekend. Finishing that up and bottling tonight. For my little operation, I can't complain one bit (except I'm going through wood like mad, but that's ok). Have pretty much matched last year's syrup production already and the forecast looks astounding. Let's hope it actually gets below freezing here at night and it just keeps on running.
