I have bottled 19 gallons so far. I am going to stick it out another week or so. My Silvers are about done but the red and sugar/black are still tight and start late. I got 25 gallons this morning from the sugar/blacks and that is since last Sunday. I wasn't expecting to get any but some of the trees didn't know the weather was not right to give sap. The rest were better educated.

Checked my taps today and some of the woods trees were going pretty good but the yard trees are still tight. I will collect tomorrow and see how much I have.

Just pulled sap from 38 taps and threw out the ice. Tested the sap at 7 percent! Too bad it was only about 4 gallons!

I envy the guys getting 100gal sap from 60 taps. I have 75 reds that I tapped the first weekend in March and I only have about 125 gals total from them. I also have 35 sugars that I tapped on the 12th and they have produced around 150gal of sap. Is it possible that the reds are done already? If that's the case I won't waste my time next year. Anybody else tapping red maples in eastern WI.

We tap all sugars except there might be a couple reds and they usually don't have much sap. We need to mark them so we don't tap them next year. We've collected 940 gals so far on 150 taps. 25 gals of syrup. Waiting for the big run the next 2 weeks.
