Welcome, I'm to your west in Wind Lake!

Got most of my maples tapped today in the short time I had after work. Just a handful left at my mother-in-law's and then need to tap the box elders. Most dripped and some really ran more than I would have expected for a 30 degree day. Even some of the huge silvers were dripping and usually those take a long time to do anything. Pump even pulled in a little bit as I got them hooked up. Here's hoping for a great season!

Well, I tapped. Forecast looked good to start. 40 on bags and 20 buckets. Sap was dripping slowly yesterday afternoon from most trees. Nothing worth bragging about other than I’m open for business!
    2014 - 15 taps
    2015 - 20 taps
    2016 - 25 taps
2017 - 60 taps - added sugar shack and first evaporator

Fredonia (northern Ozaukee county) - Tapped on Sunday 2/18 as well. Not much action yet, but my season will be forced short by a vacation the week before Easter, so figured "go for it".

    ~65 bags.

Not to spook the herd but is anyone else eyeing up this coming weekend to tap? I see the past 2 years I tapped at the end of February and did well.

New guy on here but I also got 186 on 5/16 gravity and 50 on bags. Only about 1/4 of the trees were wet when drilled.

We hope to be ready to poke holes in the next week or so. Plenty of frost depth here, drain tiles in the fields don't show any signs of loosening up standing water yet.

Rain here seems to have helped a bit. 1.5gpt so far on my ~40 vac taps this early run. Some tubing to buckets looking pretty good (.5-1.25 gpt). Nothing crazy, but a good sign for the future. Have a large silver than has given me a cup of sap over the last two seasons now actually running. I was almost going to leave it alone this season. Going to be a freaking icy mess once it cools off. Yuck.

We will be putting up our tubing on Saturday. Don't know about tapping yet. Still a lot of frost.
