    Default Citric Acid alternative

Anyone have a suggestion on food grade citric acid supplier? Ran out, have to shut the RO down and don’t have time to go to Bascoms or CDL up north since nobody can ship this stuff. Tried Grainger but it’s a 2 week ship.

What's the difference between Amazon's citric acid and the suppliers? Amazon can ship but they can't?

I used the Amazon citric acid the other week, and used almost the entire 2lbs bag. I'm not sure how much you're supposed to use for an acid wash on a single 8-inch membrane, but it only got the pH down to 3.2, and I thought you need to get it to ~2 for a proper acid wash.

I'm not sure what the difference is between the maple companies and the Amazon stuff.

I never heard that the citric acid could not be shipped, just the lye soap. I got my last batch shipped from Amazon, didn't have time to go pick it up. Try a health food store if you have one nearby.
Dave Klish, I recently ordered a 2x6 wood fired evaporator from A&A Sheet Metal which I will be converting to oil fired
Now have solar, 2x6 finish pan, 5 bank 7x7 filter press, large water jacketed bottler, and tankless water heater.
Recently bought another Gingerich RO, this one was a 125, but a second membrane was added thus is a 250, like I had.
    After running a 2x3, a 2x6, 3x8 tapping from 79 taps up to 1320 all woodfired, now I'm going to a 2x6 oil fired and a 200-425 taps.

It can be shipped. Just has to be in an approved tamper proof package and Probley another 100 requirements. It’s a white powder. So usually draws attention when being shipped. That’s what I was told anyways a couple years ago when I tried to buy my RO soap and storage solution powder from CDL and get them to ship it.
I just buy it bulk at health food stores. It’s way cheaper that way. And it’s food grade. I usually buy 10 lbs of it at a time.
