    Default Dsd Stars 1/4” taps

Is anyone using these taps currently with good results? Interested in possibly switching to them next year if they are any good.

1/4" spouts produce about 10% less sap than a 5/16" spout (according to studies done by both UVM Proctor and Centre Acer), but also do create a slightly smaller wound in the tree. Best to understand the tradeoffs before making a decision. If your tree growth is slower than normal, they might be a good choice, but slow growth is often due to something else (like overcrowding or poor soil nutrition or moisture).
