    Default Trying to make candy

My first attempt at candy has failed. I am guessing I didn't stir it long enough, it is not set up kinda sticky and wet. Other issues might be, I didn't check the boiling point of water before starting. The biggest disappointment though is it doesn't have that great maple flavor, I used syrup from 2021 amber 60 by Hanna. Should I go with darker syrup? Or are there other factors I don't of affecting flavor.

Your syrup is fine to make candy with. Take it to 242. Boiling point won’t matter that much. I assume you don’t have a candy machine so stir it until is changes Colour It and goes from a shinny to dull, once you see that spread it into your moulds quickly as it will start to set up
