Evaporator channels have a lip.
My old leader pan had channels inserted into a flat pan, but my new pan has holes punched into the folded in channels. This results in a lip , and the pan doesn’t drain completely. This in my opinion contributes to niter buildup.
Has anyone tried to have this lip cut away and the seam re tigged?
Had I known how annoying this lip was going to be I doubt I would have bought a new pan. My old one was easier to clean by far.

2024 - 250 taps on a Delaval 76 + 135 buckets with a A&A 2x8 and RB20 RO
2023 - 225 taps on a Guzzler with a 2x4 homemade evaporator with RB15 RO
2022 - 125 taps on gravity with a 2x4 homemade evaporator
2021 - 50 buckets on a barrel evaporator
2020 - 25 buckets on a cinderblock arch
I think any pan that has folded in channels would have this problem. It’s just how pans are made now. Looking to hear from people who have successfully rewelded that seam in the ports between the channels. Is it possible to do,this?Originally Posted by loganl
