Default Use heat duct as fireplace pipe

Hi all, my chimney pipe fell apart and I need to get a new one. I use an old fireplace with the top sides cut off and hotel pans, been going great for years. Rather than expensive fireplace stove pipe do you think 8” heat ducting would work for the rest of this year? Thanks for your thoughts.

Heat duct (28 or 30 ga) won't hold up with the extreme heat, but you can use 24ga stove pipe, it will give you a few years.
Dave Klish, I recently ordered a 2x6 wood fired evaporator from A&A Sheet Metal which I will be converting to oil fired
Now have solar, 2x6 finish pan, 5 bank 7x7 filter press, large water jacketed bottler, and tankless water heater.
Recently bought another Gingerich RO, this one was a 125, but a second membrane was added thus is a 250, like I had.
    After running a 2x3, a 2x6, 3x8 tapping from 79 taps up to 1320 all woodfired, now I'm going to a 2x6 oil fired and a 200-425 taps.

I used heat duct on my first homemade evaporator. I didn't have a blower and i don't think i was getting as hot as most evaporators, though i did get a pretty decent boil. Anyway the heat duct lasted a couple years. Lasted longer than the body of the (not insulated) evaporator, which warped terribly and was unusable after three years.

By the way, your setup sounds very similar to my first evaporator i made! http://mapletrader.com/community/sho...g-stove-cheap!

The galvanized coating creates toxic smoke as it burns off.
