    Default Steam hood flue size

    Hello All,

I started building a steam hood for my 2x7 evaporator. Hood will be 2x5, over my flue pan only. A copper pipe preheater will be installed inside the hood.

What size should I build my flue? I'm hesitating between 10" and 12". It's hard to get specific info from equipment builders, anyone have an industry-built hood around that size?

    Thanks,

    Denis

My last evaporator was an A&A Amish made 2x7 with a 5 foot flue pan. The flue pan hood only had a 6" stack and worked fine. With that being said, I would go 10". No need for 12" in my opinion.
