Default Flames under the entire length of the pan?

In the perfect world, and wasting fuel was not a consideration, would having the firebox the full length of the pan and flames under the full length of the pan ideal, instead of having a ramp?

    Thanks

Not needed, a properly designed ramp and flues pan boils hard all the way back, why burn more fuel?
Dave Klish about 400 taps, down from much more. Retired from collecting and boiling in 2021. Mostly because of a bad hip.
