    Default Iowa boys

I'm from Pa but my daughter and her family live in southwest Iowa and are tapping a few trees for the first time. She had a run a couple of weeks ago on some bigger open trees but has a row of sugar maples protected by a windbreak that started to run yesterday, these are smaller trees only a couple of them were big enough to tap. Just wondered if you guys were still getting sap or is it too late for her sugar maples. Thanks Ron

I'm in North central Illinois and my sugar has dropped to 1.3% and sap is turning cloudy , one more boil for us and that's it. Time may be running out for sw Iowa too.

Just was wondering, our last gather of sap was March 16. I thought our maple seasons would be the same although it could be interesting if they were a little later than us ! Ron
