Default 3/16 20 ' drop in 650 feet. will it still work

I'm wondering about reconfiguring a setup. I CURRENTLY USE three quarter in mainlines and use shorter lateral lines but am wondering if I could take advantage of the drop for the upper taps if I was to just use lateral lines the full 650 feet with 30 or so taps per line?

yes it will work, I have two laterals like that and they do fine (3/16)
    125-150 taps
Smokey Lakes Full pint Hybrid pan
    Modified half pint arch
    Air over fire
    All 3/16 tubing

Well I never measured it and I'm just estimating, but it's in the ball park of 600+ feet or more ( I'm counting total feet of tubing not linear distance)and 20-25 feet of drop. I actually used to have a short run of around 200 feet and 10-15 feet of fall, it produced sap but not as efficiently. Also, please understand part of the total length is just tubing going to the collection tank with no taps, maybe up to 100 feet. Now, do these produce optimum natural vacuum and maximum sap, no, but theywork just fine for my needs. You ask if it would work not how efficient it is. The only way to know if it's acceptable is try it. You never said what size line your short laterals were or if you had vacuum on them. I would guess if you have all short run 5/16 into 3/4 laterals on gravity alone you aren't getting optimum sap production anyway. 3/16 would give you some vacuum and perhaps more volume, but that's a guess.

Since you questioned my post, I sense your skeptical and have doubt as to my information or if it'll work. So, maybe it's not a good choice for you. I'm not trying to be rude, but I have no desire to enter a debate on my applications, so I will probably not comment further. Good luck.
