I have a set of these and I don't care for them. They are fast and easy but I don't like the kink they put in the tubing. Especially with 3/16 tubing. I use 2 shoe laces tied into loops with an S hook on one of them. I wrap them as a prusik around each end of the tubing and hook them together.

I just used my set of hooks to replace 180 T's in the back woods. They're fast and not having to lug the two handed tool around my neck worked just fine.
But also agree with the Prusik knot...I carry about a 10' length of 5/16" line (rope) with me in the gator, comes in real handy if a I need to rejoin a lateral that's come undone and the ends are not within easy reach.
