I was able to tap about 50 trees today, in the rain. None were running. I think they will start after the cold snap in a few days, and I could tap either today or next weekend. I am hoping to capitalize on any early season flow. We'll see I guess.

Lots of trees, bees, rocks, firewood, and syrup.
Thinking about poking a couple of trees here later in the week...
Good luck with your season folks. Let us know how it goes.

I'm not in Missouri, but I have had inconsistent flows too. I seen someone else say that as well. I was ready for a monster run last week and it never happened. I had one good day and and two mediocre ones. The good day was half what I expected. I still have a lot of frost in the ground here in southern ohio and we are just recovering from that huge ice storm. I think when the dam breaks it'll be a mad rush and a short season. I am probably 30% behind where I should be with syrup made.

Good luck Missouri, going to put 50 early taps in today here in southern Ohio. If this weather pattern holds will be all in by January 20-25

Season was short for me. I have pulled everything and cleaned up. Weather seamed to not cooperate, but my total numbers are ok I guess. This year I had more trees and more taps, and produced less. Not sure if others are no longer active here or just posting elsewhere. Hope the rest of you have a good season.

Tapped another 40 today. My trees are running, and I have mostly frozen sap in my buckets from last week. I think the temps for next week look great. Looking forward to a good start of the season. I hope to see some more Missouri regulars on here this year.
