    Default 2 4 x 40 post ro schematic

Does any one have a schematic on setting up a 2 post 4 x 40 RO? I've seen 1 post with a recirculation line. I'm not sure if I can set it up like the RO Bucket we had last year with 4 membranes in series fashion, but then i'm not sure where to put the recirculation line and or the pressure and valves.

The RO bucket was great in a pinch for the 205 taps last year, but we are looking towards 350ish taps this year.

    Thanks.

I can't get the image to upload. After your main needle valve, before your concentrate flow meter, plumb in a new tee. On the stub of this tee, put another needle valve. This is your recirculation control valve. From this needle valve, plumb a hose into another new tee that needs to be in between your filter and the high pressure pump inlet.

Your main concentrate needle valve greatly reduces the pressure of the concentrate on the output side. When you open the recirculation needle valve, your main pressure gauge will drop significantly. Adjust both valves until your concentrate flow and main pressure gauge is where you want it. You will be really happy with it.

Send me your email and I can send you a diagram of the one I built. bmbmkr@yahoo.com

You could modify our single post kit https://www.therobucket.com/product/single-post-ro-kit/
for two posts fairly easily. You could get away with 1/2” pipe and the 195gph pump as well. You’d pull 100 gallons of water per hour and run 95 gallons of concentrate out (wouldn’t need recirculation). Ideally a 330gph procon would be better but the pump and motor assembly is about 2x as much.

I would plumb it in series to keep your recovery down (more liquid passing over each membrane and less risk of fouling).

We bought a 330 pump with a 1.5 hp motor to upgrade. Carl we did consider your set up but wanted to be able to expand more and have the more powerful setup for possibly 3 membranes. I actually was looking at your one post schematic first.

Been down the road with 4” membranes and procons. They work but are not truly effective after removing 20 gallons of water they slow right down from sugar fowling. That’s where you ad a multistage booster pulling off the pressure side and feeding back to the beginning of the high pressure side. Use vessels with the larger 3/4 feed drain ports the more flow across the membrane the better. I feed mine to my high pressure pump using half inch. From the pump it’s half inch to the t at the vessel. I run 3/4” hose in series to the end with another t. At that t I have a Half inch bleed off-line with a needle valve fitting to bleed off my concentrate also in the T I have a three-quarter fitting that feeds my recirculation pump that puts it back at the beginning. I can do 10 bricks on a pass a 225 psi. Performance wise I can take about 90gallons a hour out of a tank recirculating
